About the Author of MycoMedicinals:
Paul Stamets is one of America’s most renown and respected mycologists, having lived and breathed mushrooms for more than 20 years. During this time, he has discovered and described four new mushroom species, and developed numerous new breakthrough techniques for cultivating edible and medicinal mushrooms (mycomedicinals). In 1998, Paul Stamets received the "Bioneers Award" from The Collective Heritage Institute, and the following year (1999) the "Founder of a New Northwest Award" from the Pacific Rim Association of Resource Conservation and Development Councils.

Besides MycoMedicinals, Stamets has written five additional books on mushrooms and their use and cultivation. His two books The Mushroom Cultivator (coauthored) and Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms are hailed as the definitive instruction manuals on mushroom cultivation. Other publications include Psilocybe Mushrooms and Their Allies (out of print), Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World, and his latest best-seller on popular mycology, Mycelium Running (2005).
